The works in the exhibition Plein Sud, condensed around the question of hairiness, inseparably combine seduction and repulsion, two poles of Fred Laforge's approach. However, the hair is also one of the markers of time that passes: they grow, fall and graze over the seasons. Paradoxically, they are also among the most resistant elements of the human body, and they survive for a long time at the death of the flesh, as evidenced by the mummies who keep their hair. From there, Fred Laforge's work also plunges us into a reflection on the fleetingness of beauty, but also on the ephemeral aspect of youth, the body and life itself.
