Daniel Lahaise - Interlignes : genèse et possibilités
This publication was produced during the exhibition Interlignes: genèse et possibilités, presented at Plein sud from 14 September to 19 October 2013.
In a text titled "Drawing Lines, Painting in the Interstices", Katrie Chagnon describes the evolutions of Daniel Lahaise's work and the spontaneous and patient processes that led to the production of the generous corpus of works presented. She writes: "As the inscriptions cover the surface, the figure dissolves in a mass of indistinct lines. The gradual dissolution of the figuration materializes the duration of the experiment in which the image and, with it, a continually evolving subject take shape. [...] From brush to silverpoint instrument and graphite pencil, from exacto knife to spray can, a succession of tools sets the pace of this creator’s research."
