Marc Séguin : Serial Killers - Généalogie et Rébellion
"[...] a privileged moment of discovery, the revelation of a strangely audacious corpus."
Author and Curator Réal Lussier
This catalogue deals with two series of works by Marc Séguin, each series was the subject of an exhibition. One, at Plein sud, from September 19 to October 25, 2009, featured Serial Killers, a set of 25 drawings produced in 2005. The other, entitled Généalogie et Rébellion, at Galerie Simon Blais, from September 9 to October 3, 2009, consisted of more recent drawings and paintings. The artist’s concurrent showings at two venues suggested the idea of a common catalogue. But even more, it was the fact of his dual practices of drawing and painting that sparked interest in covering both exhibitions in a single publication to provide a reading of the whole.
The book includes the text by Réal Lussier ("Serial Killers, or Depicting Deviance"), as well as an interview with Marc Séguin. Also receive a "Marc Séguin" bookmark when you order a book.
