Étienne Lafrance : Portraits
The Portraits exhibition was presented at Plein sud from May 24 to July 5, 2014. Étienne Lafrance is the recipient of the 2013 Plein sud. The photograph of the various works was realized by Trevor Gould. In his presentation of the work of the artist, the author Pierre Rannou evaluates the relationship between the artist's practice and our conceptions of portraiture, landscape and nature.
The artist, who was born in Saint-Mathias-sur-Richelieu in 1983, currently lives and works in Berlin. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Concordia University in Montreal in 2007. He has presented his works in individual exhibitions in Montreal and Quebec City and in about fifteen collective exhibitions in Quebec, England, Germany and France. He is represented by Galerie Dominique Bouffard in Montreal.
